Herbst mixing and stirring units are normally supplied as complete, ‚ready-to-use‘ systems, including all the necessary electrical equipment. This is an advantage for the user in that no interface problems can occur between the products of different component suppliers.
The scope of the electrotechnical equipment is determined by the requirements of the operator of the mixer/stirrer. In the simplest case, it is only a control cabinet with the necessary components, but for complex process sequences, complex measurement, controls and control system technology can be added.
The electrotechnical equipment can, of course, also be designed for use in potentially explosive zones (in accordance with ATEX 94/9). Usually, the main switch cabinet is then installed outside the Ex zone, and an explosion-proof switch box with the required operating elements is also provided for the stirrer/mixer. However, the main switch cabinet can also be designed ex-protected on request.
